HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

PART 2

BYZANTINE

OJ - Vocalist

Favorite Halloween Memory
OJ

My favorite Halloween memory... When I was young, my older brother used to always take me out for Halloween; he would always dress me up. My mother would take me around early before it would get dark, and then my brother would take me around after it got dark. My older brother would always tell me this carton of eggs is to be thrown at cars, this roll of toilet paper, etc I remember the first time that I ever became a (Halloween) vandal... It was too late to go out of my yard. So, sticking to those rules, I egged my own house and soaped all the windows, and my mother caught me and she beat my ass.

SKINLESS

Joey Kayser - Guitar

Most Memorable Halloween
Joey

Here's the tale. I'm in this band called Skinless, but this story does not pertain to Skinless at all. This pertains to the other two bands I am in, I'm in a hardcore band called Street Sweeper, and I'm in a Misfits cover band called Children In Heat. So, Children In Heat played on this past Halloween, and my other band was also in the crowd, and we played this "Halloween Misfits show," and it was all great and cool. Toward the end of the show I decided I wanted to call up my other band members to play a song or two. So the singer from Street Sweeper comes up, and he gets on stage and he goes to take the mic from the lead singer from Children In Heat, and he doesn't really know him, as they aren't familiar with each other. So he's like "fuck you, man, this is my mic, this is my show!!", and the lead singer of Street Sweeper is like "fuck you, this is my show!", and the other guy is like "No, man, its cool, let me just get the mic!", All of a sudden the lead singer of Children In Heat hits the lead singer of Street Sweeper over the head with a bottle. The two lead singers of my two other bands are brawling on stage, bottles are flying everywhere, speakers are falling over, cabinets are falling over, this and that. They almost fell off the stage, we had to pull them off the stage, and this was an elevated stage, 15, maybe 20 feet off the ground. So we had to pull them off stage, and laughing, and asking if anyone had a fucking camera or if anyone had a video camera because there were two singers brawling on stage. They get off the stage, and fight their way out, punching each other in the face. Both of them are all fucked up. And I think that's the first time there has ever been an inter-band brawl on stage, live, in any kind of environment, I've never seen that before. And at the end of the night, they were drinking beers together.

THROWRAG

Chango - Drums

Most Memorable Halloween
Throwrag

My most memorable Halloween was when I was eight or nine or so, and I was out trick or treating. I was not feeling so well and had a stomach ache and I tried to barf, but instead, I shit my pants. I don't even remember what the costume was, but I had to steal somebody's bike so I could go home and change my underwear so I could go back out and continue trick or treating.

BLOODSIMPLE

Tim Williams - Vocalist

Most Memorable Halloween
Tim

One of my favorite Halloween moments, straight up was me and a bunch of my friends were invited to, at the time, my good friend Phil Anselmo's house down in New Orleans. We had taken a bunch of Acid and were partying all week. When Halloween came, Phil and I were on Acid, and noticed that we had the same shoes, and started screaming at each other, for like 5 hours. Yeah, it was a good time.

There was another time, when I was younger, we were a bunch of punks back then, and we went to terrorize the neighborhood. We were going crazy on this one house and throwing eggs and stuff, and they chased us around the corner. We didn't know it, but they had a dog, a Rottweiler. We were running along and all of a sudden there is this dog chasing us. We were in this trailer park like set-up with the narrow streets n' such. So, we are all running and I make a left, all I was thinking was to get away from this dog. And something in the back of my head was like Wait a minute. Don't dogs follow single things to attack. And sure enough, I see this dog wrap itself around, and now he's coming after just me. He's on my heals, and I just turn around and stop. The dog comes up and stops dead on his tracks and just stares at me. I thought for sure he was going to attack me. That was definitely memorable for me.

ILL NINO

Christian - Vocalist (w/ the help of LAZ - Ill Nino - Bass)

Halloween/Scary Story
    Ill Nino
  • CHRISTIAN - We don't celebrate Halloween in South America, so I didn't know anything about that until I was 12 years old. When I found out about Halloween, I was like WHAT? GET OUT OF HERE!! People dress up in costumes and ask for candy? What are you talking about? I thought that it was the freakiest thing.
  • LAZ - Did you ever dress up? What was your first costume then?
  • CHRISTIAN - When I was here. It was these ripped up jeans and this torn up t-shirt thing.. I don't know. It's just weird.
  • MPJ - Do you have a scariest moments story then?
  • LAZ - Yeah, do you have any good ghost stories?
  • CHRISTIAN - Nah..
  • LAZ - I have a scary story, there is this club we play at in Millwaukee called the Rave. Everybody plays the Rave. It's like 4 clubs in one. The biggest bands play in the top room and the more underground bands in the lower room. They say that the place is haunted. I don't remember the name, but there was this band that was there And they were telling them about these abandon pools that are. They are scary as shit and just feels creepy when your there. And there is this chair that is by the pool that is not suppose to be moved because this is where this particular ghost likes his chair. And this drummer from this band put it to the test. He was like Fuck this, I don't believe in ghost. He went over and he moved the chair. He was like, YOU SEE, NOTHING HAPPENED TO ME. So later, when they went on stage and started to play, there was a power outage on stage. Dude, all the pa's and all the lights went out except for the one spotlight that was coming right to him, on the drum risers. From what I hear, this guy said he would never step foot back into that place again.
  • CHRISTIAN - I've been in that room, ya know. And the first time I went in there, it really does feel like, well like something is in there. The abandon pools are really creepy. When you look down in there, they are really dark and murky on the bottom. Like dirty or something. It's like an old YMCA or something.
  • LAZ - It looks like someone was killed in there.
  • CHRISTIAN - Or drowned in there.
  • LAZ - Rumor has it that it was a mafia place, where they used to bring dead bodies in there and chop them up in there. And kill people there.
  • MPJ - Is the chair facing the pool?
  • LAZ - Ya know, last time we were there, I didn't pay that much attention to the chair. It was the end of that night when we were getting ready to leave that someone had told me that story, and since it was nighttime, I wasn't going to go back down to find out about the chair. (We all laugh)
  • CHRISTIAN - I know the first time I went there; I wasn't going to let it bother me. But the last time we went, I didn't want to let the door shut. Like you open the door, and it revolves and automatically shuts. I put something in there to not let it shut 'cause you could just feel it when the door opened.
  • MPJ - So, you can sense those kinds of things?
  • CHRISTIAN - Yeah, but I always take the psychological approach to things.
